Lecture Program
The Dr. Richard S. Kerstine Vision Outreach Program
The Dr. Richard S. Kerstine Vision Outreach Program provides free educational lectures to the community on a variety of eye conditions, such as cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. Our presentations emphasize the importance of regular eye exams. The outreach program provides these free lectures at senior centers, churches, and community organizations.
It is a critical part of The Cincinnati Eye Institute Foundation’s mission to raise the public’s awareness about the importance of regular eye exams and the prevalence of major eye diseases. Because most serious eye diseases do not produce significant pain, people tend to put off seeing their eye care professional until their vision is compromised. Sadly, the later an eye problem is diagnosed, the harder it becomes to treat, and sometimes vision that has failed may be gone forever. Awareness and prevention are key to preserving your sight!
In addition to free lectures, The Dr. Richard S. Kerstine Vision Outreach Program also provides free community eye screenings. Please note that our outreach program calendar lists lectures and screenings that are already booked and are not open to the general public. If you, your organization, or your community group would like to host a lecture or screening, please email Alyson Robey for more information at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
