Advances in eye care have been impressive over the last 25 years, but research continues to improve preventive care, eye disease treatments, and surgical techniques. The Cincinnati Eye Institute Foundation supports, self-funded eye research as one of its three mission objectives. The Foundation supports research that has the potential to lead to sight saving treatments. Research studies with the University of Cincinnati,Children's Hospital Medical Center, and Cincinnati Eye Institute have received support from The Foundation. A few of the areas include age-related macular degeneration (ARMD), glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, retinitis pigmentosa and genetic testing.
